About Al Iaquinta

I wrestled at Wantagh high school and wrestled a year at Nassau Community College. I starting boxing during that year in college and then got into MMA. I learned Muay Thai and BJJ at a Pat Miletich Affiliate gym. During this time I had 14 amateur MMA fights along with a handful of Muay Thai kickboxing fights. I went to all the grappling/sambo/wrestling tournaments I could find. I stayed an amateur so long so that I could work on my standup and jiu-jitsu before making the jump to the Pros.

Every fight I had I saw myself going from just a wrestler to a true MMA fighter. I joined up with the Serra-Longo fight team and they really took my game to a whole new level. On February 20th I made my professional debut and won by submission.

My goals in this sport are to seek out the best competition and win. When I am finished fighting I want to have my own gym with a world class team of fighters. I want to make a living in Mixed Martial Arts but I also want to give more to the sport then I take from it.
